A FEW KEY POINTERS TO KNOW BEFOREHAND:

  • It is a wine lover’s paradise
  • Except for the main tourist spots, most of Chile is untouched and only has a few locals and tourists in other areas
  • Chile is relatively expensive as compared to the rest of South America, including high food and bus costs.
  • Be ready for a plethora of climatic zones throughout the country.
  • If you are invited to a local’s house in the night, do not expect to have a big dinner. Instead, you will find yourself having tea time with bread, coffee, and light refreshments.
  • Banks don’t always work in Chile so it’d be wise to keep cash handy.
Santiago

You will be greeted by our representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel in your private cab. After freshening up, a tour of the Chilean capital of Santiago awaits us. On this City Centre Tour in the afternoon you get a historic and political perspective of the city, starting from the Plaza de Armas and from there on to La Moneda Palace, stately office of the president.Catch the city in all its glory from the Santa Lucia Hill before we leave for two of the must visits in Santiago- Santiago Metropolitan park-a park encompassing a zoo, a jungle and laced with cable cars and the Barrio Bellavista- a hip dining and entertainment district to cap the day off. (overnight at Santiago)

Santiago

Second day in Chile promises to be an exciting one with two of the most unique cities in the country-Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar, waiting to be explored. Be ready to be captured by the amazing street art in Valparaiso and get a chance to explore the city in the trolley bus, a local attraction. Plaza BismarckPlaza Echaurren are some of the popular local attractions we’ll enjoy before gorging on some Alfajores cookies and ending the tour on Cerro Bellavista. From here we shift our focus to Vina Del Mar and this 2-3 hour outing will unveil Chilean costumes and idiosyncrasies that you might otherwise not perceive on your own. The trip starts in front of the famous floral time clock called Reloj de Flores. From here we head to Cerro Castillo to get a panoramic view of the city. Castillo Brunet, a castle made out of bricks, exclusively imported from France awaits us next. Post this we head to the City Centre and learn more about the Beautiful city before heading back to Santiago (Overnight at Santiago)

Atacama

We’ll transfer to Atacama, for what’s goingto be an adventurous set of three days in the desert city. Our tour here will focus on three vital locations:Valley of the Moon, Central Crater and finally the viewpoint of Ckari. We start by touring the important points of our main destination, visit the salt caverns, the main dune, the amphitheatre and the three Marias, which are located in the middle of the Sal mountain range. We move to the viewpoint of Ckari, to enjoy a sunset of beautiful colors and an aperitif. It’d be recommended to wear pullover, carry sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, mineral water and comfortable shoes for walking. (Overnight at Atacama)

Atacama

On the tour to the Tatio Geysers we will leave at dawn from San Pedro de Atacama towards the Altiplano, climbing the hills and mountains of the Andes Mountains. After one and a half hours of travel, we will arrive at the Geysers, a unique natural spectacle in its own right, with 80 smoking geysers at a whopping altitude of 4200 m. Next to this natural setting, we will enjoy a breakfast refuelling, then tour the geothermal field, surrounded by numerous steam columns. Also, it might be possible to visit the rustic well that is within the same field. Back to San Pedro de Atacama, we will make a stop in the town of Machuca, we will make a 40-minute trek through the guatin valley, also known as the cactus valley, and return to San Pedro.(Overnight at Atacama)

Atacama

On our last day in the Atacama, we begin at 5 in the morning to beat the crowd and head to Laguna Chaxa where we will see flamingos. We continue with the tour in the Salar de Atacama, one of the largest salt flats in the world. Then we’ll head to the famous Altiplanic Lagoons, one of the most beautiful set of Lagoons on the continent. The grand Piedras Rojas and the marvellous Laguna Tuyajtoawait us before we head to Socaire for lunch. The tour will end in Toconao, the town with two of the oldest churches in Chile hence bringing an end to our Atacama escapade. (Overnight at Atacama)

Puerto Varas

We transfer to Puerto Varas in Southern Chile, a small but must-visit town in the ideal Chile itinerary. This will be a leisure day keeping in mind the activities of the last three days, the transfer exhaustion and to make the most out of Puerto Varas on our last day in Chile next morning. However, feel free to explore Frutillar apart from the beautiful town of Puerto Varas, embroidered with German traditions and cultures in addition to the Chilean ones (Overnight at Puerto Varas)

Puerto Varas

We’ll visit an active volcano and other natural highlights of Southern Chile. Beginning on the southern shores of Lake Llanquihue, we’llenter Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park. Marvelling at the turquoise waters of the Petrohué Waterfalls and the tranquil beaches surrounding Lake Todos los Santos is exactly what Puerto Varas is known for. This will be followed by Lunch in Ensenada at the foot of the Osorno Volcano, South America’s own version of Mount Fuji. Post this, we’ll travel up the volcano to a ski resort for striking views of the Petrohué River Valley. (Overnight at Puerto Varas)

Puerto Varas

On the last day you’d be transferred to the Puerto airport, before reaching Santiago, based on your flightschedule based on day 7 night or day 8 early morning.
