Arrival
On arrival at the LuangPrabang airport, you will be transferred to check in the hotel. Situated in the centre of northern Laos, LuangPrabang is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its outstanding cultural, historic and architectural values and its harmonious relationship between the natural and built environment.
You are free to stroll around the city for your own first impression of this ancient city. Overnight in LuangPrabang
Pak Ou Caves
Breakfast at the hotel, you can first visit the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene. After that, embark on the cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, a 16th century cave monastery filled with thousands of Buddha images, which locates 25 Kilometers North of LuangPrabang in the limestone cliffs overlooking the Mekong river. En route, you will stop at Ban MuangKeo, a well-known village for its traditional Lao rice whisky distilling. Then you will arrive back in LuangPrabang.
On arrival back in the city, visit the magnificent Wat Xiengthon a superb piece of Lao temple architecture, which presents a sweeping two-tiered roof and ornate mosaics including a beautiful ‘tree of life ‘glass montage on the rear temple wall. Your last stop today is the Traditional Art and Ethnology Center (closed on Monday) to learn about Laos’ many ethnic cultures.

Kuang Si Waterfalls
Pick-up: 06:00AM: Wake up as the sun rises and prepare to join the most sacred tradition of Laos, the daily morning alms giving, which dates to the 14th century. More than 200 Buddhist monks depart from various temple to gather their daily meal from the faithful residents sitting quietly on the streets.
From there, visit the temporary morning market near the former Royal Palace. Just set on the ground, the local people come here to barter their day’s catch from rice, to vegetable, to fish, or chicken. This is the best chance to experience the flavor of local life. After breakfast at the hotel, visit UXO Visitor Center (closed on Saturday, and Sunday), where you can find the documentation about the secret war in Laos.
Then visit the Buffalo Dairy Farm, which is the first of its kind in Laos. The farm helps Lao farmer have benefits from the dairy products from their buffaloes, that they cannot imagine before.
This then takes you to the beautiful Kuang Si waterfalls which is the biggest in the Luang Prabang area with three tiers leading to a 50-metre drop into spectacular azure pools before flowing downstream. The pools also make great swimming holes and are very popular with both tourists and locals.
You have the rest of the afternoon to refresh with the cool clear water, or hiking to the top of the waterfalls.
There is also the chance to walk to the nearby village of Ban Thapene, and explore the hidden waterfalls, which is rarely visited by other tourists
If you wish, you can also take a short visit to the Bear Rescue Center, which houses a couple of dozen animals rescued from the hands of poachers and traffickers.
On the way back to LuangPrabang, take a short visit to the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, set serenely close to the Mekong, this beautiful, traditionally styled workshop, where weavers, spinners and batik makers produce top-quality fabrics, offers free tours every half-hour. This is also one of the best spots to admire the sunset in LuangPrabang
Transfer back to your hotel late afternoon. Overnight in LuangPraban
Pha Tad Ke
The Pha Tad Ke boat departs Ban Wat That at 9:00 (please be at the pier at 8:45). Enjoy a 15-minute leisurely boat trip down the Mekong River. Upon arrival at Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden reception you will be given a short presentation about the gardens. After that walk through the Ginger Garden and the Ethno-botanic Garden, which is the centerpiece of the garden. Follow the path through the Limestone Walk and take in the amazing mountainous Mekong landscape. Learn how to make a bamboo stick animal at the site of the hunting lodge of the former royal family. Then continue your tour of Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden walking through the Arboretum, Palm Garden and Bamboo Garden to the viewpoint that overlooks the rice fields. Stop by the Mist House where you will learn more about the importance of biodiversity conservation. Finish your excursion with an optional orchid talk at Pha Tad Ke Nursery.

Enjoy a delicious Lao set lunch at the Pha Tad Ke café before taking the boat back to LuangPrabang.
City Tour- Departure
After breakfast, ascend to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, you will visit Royal Palace Museum, which was built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King SisavangVong and his family.
Continue to Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief, which is one of the most beautiful temples in town.
Then visit Wat Visoun, dating back to 1513 during the reign of King Wisunarat (Visoun), this is LuangPrabang’s oldest temple and was once home to the Prabang Buddhas. From there stroll around to visit Wat Aham, which was once the residence of Sangkharat, the supreme head of Lao Buddhism.
If time permits, you may take a short walk around the small streets of city center, watching the life of local people.
Then transfer out to the airport to take the departure flight
