A FEW KEY POINTERS TO KNOW BEFOREHAND:

  • Brazilians aren’t the best when it comes to English so brushing up on your Portuguese would be highly recommended. Knowing the basic phrases shall be enough
  • The people are one of the best you’ll come across in the whole of Americas. However, pickpocketing and other petty crimes are very commonplace in the country so caution must be maintained at all times.
  • Explore the street life in Rio and Sao Paulo as much as you can as these are some of the best experiences the country has to offer. Try not to venture out alone late in the night though!
  • Brazilians are laid back people and hence, not very popular for their punctuality. Almost nothing starts on time and there will always be delays in some form or the other. So always take that bit into account.
  • Try not to drink the tap water. Always keep an extra bottle of packaged water handy.
